BELTANE

Beltane marks the point in the year where life is no longer holding back. The land has woken up properly now. Growth is obvious. Trees are in leaf, the air feels warmer, and everything carries a sense of movement and possibility.

There is a feeling of momentum at this point on the Wheel.

What was tended quietly earlier in the year now asks to be lived. Ideas want action. Intentions want expression. Energy wants somewhere to go. Beltane is the moment where things begin to take shape through doing, not just imagining.

This is also a time of connection.

Not only in a romantic or sexual sense, but in how we relate to the world around us. How we show up. Where we place our attention. What we give our time, care, and energy to. Beltane asks us to notice where we feel engaged and alive, and where we may be holding back or spreading ourselves too thin.

The energy at this time can feel strong. Motivation increases. Emotions can feel closer to the surface. There may be a desire to move, create, touch, build, or change things. This is part of the natural surge of the season.

But Beltane is not about burning out or overreaching.

It invites awareness around what you are choosing to nurture. What you invest in now will grow alongside you. This is a point of commitment, whether that is to a project, a relationship, a way of living, or to your own wellbeing.

In ceremony, Beltane offers space to come back into the body and the present moment. To enjoy what is unfolding, to feel pleasure and joy without guilt, and to ground the rising energy so it becomes sustaining rather than overwhelming.

Beltane reminds us that growth happens through relationship. With the land, with each other, and with ourselves. What we tend with care tends us in return.
