SPRING EQUINOX
Balance in motion
The Spring Equinox marks a point of balance in the year. Day and night meet as equals, light and dark briefly held in the same measure. It is a pause, but not a standstill. From here, the light begins to grow.
Unlike Imbolc, where change is mostly felt beneath the surface, the Equinox brings that change into view. The land responds quickly now. Buds open, seeds begin to stir, and the shape of the world starts to shift. What has been quietly forming begins to show itself.
This is a time of bringing things together.
Spring Equinox asks us to notice how different parts of ourselves are working alongside each other. Rest and action. Inner knowing and practical movement. The Equinox is not about choosing one over the other, but about allowing both to have their place.
Balance here is not fixed or perfect. It is something we move with.
There can be a sense of energy building at this time, sometimes felt as restlessness or emotional movement. That is part of the transition. As the outer world gathers pace, our inner world adjusts too. Ideas, intentions, and feelings that have been held quietly begin to ask for space.
In ceremony, the Spring Equinox offers a moment to pause and notice what is being carried forward.
It is a chance to check in with what still feels true, what may need softening or adjusting, and what is ready to be left behind as the year becomes more active. There is no rush here, just an opportunity to realign before momentum increases.
The Equinox also reminds us that growth needs steadiness. Movement needs awareness. This is a point of grounding before the fuller energy of spring takes hold.
Working with the energy of the Spring Equinox supports clarity and balance as life begins to move outward again. It helps create a gentle bridge between what you know inwardly and how you begin to act in the world, allowing what unfolds next to be rooted, considered, and honest.
